Windsor Swimming and Diving Back with a Splash

The Windsor High School swim and diving team is full of Warrior spirit, with teammates who will cheer for you by the sidelines and coaches who will encourage you to flourish.

Our new season has begun and we are striving for new records and to qualify for the states (CCC).

The captain of the swim team, Althea Balkus-Bouthet, says that “Being on the swim team has taught me a lot of leadership skills, but also how to support people and become their friend.”  Althea also points out that “Teamwork is very important even in an individual sport and it really just has to do with having a good attitude.”

Her best times are as follows:

50 yard freestyle in 25.9 (nearly 4 mph– in the water!).

100 backstroke (her favorite event) in 1:03.

Sophomore swimmer, Sophia Caldwell, has also made an impact, breaking the record for the 50 freestyle by 0.72 seconds (26.77). (Qualification to states for 50 freestyle: 27.4)

In addition Sophia’s 100 freestyle time is 58.64  (100 freestyle qualification: 1:01.14).

Come out and attend a home meet to cheer them on! See you at the pool!
