The Surge: A Series- Prologue Part 2: Between Storms

The string of fights was only the beginning.

Nearly a month later, the tension in the air still had not dissipated. Staff and student alike began to settle back into a state of semi-normality.

Complaints about indefinitely extended pass restriction had all but ceased, even the so-call “problem students” had mellowed some.

I was still holding my breath. Something about this whole thing seemed wrong. All signs suggested that last month’s “rage fever” was an isolated incident, but I was skeptical. This felt like the calm between storms.

The last catastrophe had resulted in a 14 year old being permanently scarred and had lasted for a span longer than many natural disasters.

If the rage was only the beginning, then how much worse would it get?
